Encouraging words for my brothers and sisters in The Lord
Some of us face uncertain futures. Indeed some of us might even feel they do not have a future! I believe God has prompted me to write these few simple words to underline the fact that in God you have a most gloriously wonderful future ahead of us. In your minds eye right now appraise where you stand in God. Are your present struggles, sufferings, challenges or disappointments blotting out your view. Have they brought you into a place where you do not know which way is up or down so much so you doubt the whole of your past walk with God and feel everything has slipped through your fingers.
Now hear this – you most assuredly have an incredible future in God. Rekindle again that hope in God you once had by again visiting those scriptures that tell of the Christians firm foundation in God.
Psalm 145: 8,14,18,19. The Lord is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love; The Lord upholds all who fall and lifts up all who are bowed down; The Lord is near to all who call on His name; He fulfils the desires of those who fear Him.
John 14: 1 – 3. Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in Me. My Father`s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with Me that you also may be where I am
2 Peter 2: 9. …the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials and to hold the unrighteous for punishment on the day of judgement.
.Galatians 6: 9. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up
Construct a ‘I am’ list. I am loved, I am healed, I am forgiven etc.
Jesus is with you, loves you, holds you and will never let you go. Even if your desires or dreams are not fully realised you are secure in Him. Jesus’ eyes are full of passionate love for you. Are you struggling with health or relationship issues or do you feel you have not quite understood what God wants you to do or be for Him. You need to come to the place where you can say with absolute conviction ‘OK Lord I give you myself, just as I am’ That is just what He wants. Now the hard bit, trusting Him to do what is really needed in your life. He does know best.
Read the bible, especially those verses that talk of Jesus’ love and care for you and those that speak of what He has prepared for you when you see him face to face. So often it seems those who are struggling with life issues fail to keep reading God’s word, to draw from the pages of scripture the comforting and sustaining words of life.
Keep praying, do not stop. Prayer so often is pushed aside when the Christian is over stressed and starting to buckle under a weight of problems and difficulties. A problem shared is a problem halved so the saying goes; what better way than spilling it all out to Father God. Keep regular times with Him and soon your view will change. The challenges and problems may still be there but God will change how you react to them and how you perceive the future.
Put your life in God’s hands is easy to say but worth the effort in faith and trust.
