Trust

A SAFE PAIR OF HANDS

To all of God’s people I believe He is saying in these days ‘Trust ME, Trust ME, Trust ME. Your life is secure in ME, I will not let you go, I will not let you down’

Many people in the church of Jesus Christ are struggling to keep their faith and continue on in their walk with God. Somehow the hard experiences of life are throwing up many questions of life. Some seem unanswerable and are crowding in to the point that their spiritual life is being slowly squeezed out of them. On so many levels we are being assailed by extremely negative reports from the media. Reports of failure in those who lead us whether at a secular level in government or indeed those who lead in our churches country wide. This is compounded by so many different apposing views brought by so many people who obviously have little love for each other. Lack of agreement between churches and church leaders bringing confusion to many people. Crime and violence on our streets and with atrocities being reported from so many different parts of the world cast into the mix of this incredible assault of negativeness in the media, there is little wonder that many who are not sure of who they are in God are struggling even to the point of giving up their faith walk.

I believe God is saying TRUST ME! Do not give up, I need you to live your life before your fellow human beings to be a powerful witness of my love for you all.

As Christians I would argue we have almost an unfair advantage over others in as much that God is our Heavenly Father and loves us so much. In fact the scriptures imply we have a relationship with God to be described that he is our daddy (abba). What father in the natural would not give to his child the very best he could give. Why would our Heavenly Father be any different. Now I am not saying we call Him daddy because for so many that is far too disrespectful a title. But that it is our position as sons and daughters of God.

He is more than able to strengthen us in dark and difficult days and even though we may suffer, He will not let us go and will carry us through to our eternal destiny. As we cultivate that absolute trust in Him each one of us will know the support of our God. Underneath are the ‘everlasting arms’ a reference from Deuteronomy 33:27 in the Old Testament. Such wonderful powerfully descriptive words describing God. Your God (Yahweh, Jehovah). Everlasting – God is always with us wherever we are. We can never escape His presence He is everywhere (omnipresent) and will continue to be forever. Arms – He is able to reach out to us. He can touch us, embrace us, hold us to stop us falling heal and restore us. Underneath – if ever we need someone to catch us if we fall, I would have absolute confidence in them if I knew them! Know your God. He is powerful and more than able to carry you through the fiercest trial in your life and present you intact and complete in Him before the throne of heaven.

Christian, the trials of this life cannot be compared with the glorious future we have in God.

It is not my intention to trivialise the suffering, persecution and deprivation so many are suffering right now somewhere in our world. I have no easy answers which at best would be trite and extremely hollow sounding. What I do say is this, we have a God, a Heavenly Father, who is touched and moved by our sufferings because He knows all about suffering. He sent His Son into the world to die a vicarious death of extreme agony. He was God and yet he had heaped on him the sin of the whole world. The sinless Son of God became sin for us so that we could go free and have a home in heaven. We cannot begin to understand the agony brought on Jesus Christ, our saviour, by having our sin heaped upon Him. So our God knows all about our suffering in this fallen and imperfect world. He is right now still working to bring this present broken world to an end and establish His glorious Kingdom on earth. A renewed world where God can again walk in the cool of the evening with us. Christian brother or sister wherever you are you will be part of that Eternal Kingdom. No matter what, as you hold fast to the faith, you can have absolute assurance that God will keep His promise of eternal life to all who believe in Him and trust Him.

So keep walking with God and if you are reading this and are not sure of your faith then I can only say ask God to forgive your sin and invite Jesus into your life as your saviour and friend. Join a Christian church and start an incredible life adventure with God as your Heavenly Father.
